Today (02 August 2026), the people of Vayavilan in the Valikamam North Divisional Secretariat Division continued their long-standing struggle for justice by holding the 17th consecutive week of protests at Palaly Junction, demanding the release of their lands. For decades, these communities have been deprived of their ancestral lands and their right to return home. Through this peaceful protest, they once again called on the authorities to immediately release the occupied lands and ensure justice for the affected families. As a people's movement committed to defending land rights, Praja Abhilasha proudly expressed its full solidarity with the people of Vayavilan. We stood alongside the affected communities and actively participated in the protest, reaffirming our commitment to the struggle for land justice, human dignity, and the right of every family to return to their own land.
