Trincomalee district fisheries day celebration and fisher cultural event was conducted in front of the eastern province governors office ground on 17 of November in Trincomalee .Eastern province Governor Mrs.Anuradha Yahampath and The Convener of NAFSO Herman Kumara participated as the chief guests.In the same time Fisher officers , Officers of Eastern province Governor office and Coordinators of the NAFSO joined that celebration.Trinco district coordinator and team organized this event with support of fisher leaders and women .

Demanding appropriate compensatio

A peaceful demonstration was held on 03.11.2022 near the Colombo court complex demanding appropriate compensation for the damages caused to Sri Lankan fishermen due to the fire of the X-Press Perl ship in June 2021. A large number of representatives of the NAFSO institute and other civil organizations participated in this protest. The protestors demanded that the fishermen also should receive fair compensation for the damage caused to them.
