2023 World Human Rights Day - Let's win!!! Let's Fight !!!

Global human rights defenders are coming together to organize the 2023 World Human Rights Day at a time when the world's very existence has been challenged by war, debt crisis, economic crisis, famine and climate crisis. As the _75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights_ is completed, the Palestinian crisis indicates a collapse of the institutional system to protect human rights. At a time when the people of this country are suffering due to excessively increasing electricity bills, famine, health crisis, unemployment and also at a juncture where many repressive laws including laws to suppress social media are about to be passed, and at a time when many rights including holding protests are restricted, we would like to extend this general invitation to commemorate the Human Rights Day. It is pertinent to note that the citizens of this country are currently facing a series of enormous economic, social and oppressive conditions and within this framework. In light of the above, this year's Human Rights Day will be celebrated by trade unions, civil organizations, mass organizations, media organizations, lawyers' and other professionals' organizations in this country, individually and together, making a number of interventions for their own rights as well as public rights. Human Rights Day falls on the 10th of December. Following an open invitation that was extended during the past few weeks a number of organizations and trade unions have consented to celebrate the Human Rights Day 2023 at the _public library on the 11th of December at 2.00 pm._ The selected theme for this year *‘Fight for our lives'* is based on the continuous battle to uphold human rights that many of us have been engaging in throughout the years. The proposed Keynote addresses will be delivered by the Palestinian Ambassador – An explanation of the Palestinian crisis. Attorney at Law Mr. S.G. Punchihewa – Economic crisis and human rights Juveria Mohideen - Experience as a human rights activist Brito Fernando - Experience as a human rights activist Moderated by Chaminda Jayasuriya and Sai Ajith.

Promote self sufficunt unit

Self Sufficient unit of Barudalpola monthly meeting was conducted on 21 of July.They explained the situation of thier home garden.We introduced the new Animator to them. In the same time they were educated on the 200 years of Malayaham people's life and their living situation .

"Join hand for protect human rights and livelihood rights"

We had focus group discusstions with Kawadapitiya village people and Kannakipuram 01 and 02 villages leaders on 18 and 19 of July .In the same time youth leaders also joined these meetings.Out of these 03 villages they formed coordination community for common campaigns.They have already identified thier issues ,such as 01.Drinking water issue . 02.Human and Elephant conflict. 03.Housing project ,loan repayment issue. 04.No land rights . 05.No collaboration with Government officers. 06.Environment and climate issues and so on... They did the analysis and prepared the action plans and shared the responsibilities among the team.District Coordinator and Animator organized the programs

The Development Masterplans and Community Advocacy workshop conducted on 29 and 30 of May at the Community Education Centre in Malabe. 30 Leaders of the organizations who work on the land rights and 09 CSO leaders participated the workshop.Iromi Perera facilitated program . PARL orgnized the workshop.

මානව හිමිකම් ආරක්ෂකයින් සඳහා ඉඩම් නීති හා මූලික නීතිමය පසුබිම පිළිබඳව පිළිබඳ පුහුණු වැඩමුළුව.

මෙම පුහුණු වැඩමුළුව ප්‍රධාන අරමුණු තුනක් යටතේ ක්‍රියාත්මක කරන ලදී. 01. රටේ පවතින මූලික නීතීන් සහ අයිතිවාසිකම් පිළිබඳව දැනුමෙන් පෝෂණය කිරීම හා ඉඩම් නීති රීතීන් සහ ඉඩම් ප්‍රතිපත්ති පිළිබඳව මෙම කණ්ඩායමේ දැනුම වර්ධනය කිරීම. 02.මානව හිමිකම් ආරක්ෂකයින් ලෙස මෙන්ම paralegal කෙනෙක් විදියට කෙසේ ක්‍රියා කළ යුතුද පිළිබඳව දැනුම ලබාදීම.එමෙන්ම මෙටා legal පිළිබඳව අවබෝධය ලබා දී මහජන උද්දේශන ක්‍රියාවලියක නිරත වීමේ වැදගත්කම අවබෝධ කරගැනීමට සහ භාගික යන්ට හැකියාව ඇති කිරීම. 03.මහජන ව්‍යාපාරයකදී භාවිතා කළ හැකි උපක්‍රම සහ ක්‍රියාකාරකම් ගොඩනඟා ගොඩනඟා ගැනීමට මඟ පෙන්වීම. ඉහත අරමුණු මුල් කරගනිමින් මාලබේ ප්‍රජා අධ්‍යාපන මධ්‍යස්ථානයේ දී මැයි මස 26,27 සහ 28 දෙදින තුළදී මෙම පුහුණුව ලබා දෙන ලදී.එම පුහුණුව සඳහා දිස්ත්‍රික්ක නමයකින් තෝරාගත් තරුණ, කාන්තා සහ ඉඩම් ගැටලු පිළිබඳව ක්‍රියාකාරී වූ වැඩ කටයුතු කළ නායකයින්ගෙන් සමන්විත කණ්ඩායමක් තෝරා ගන්නා ලදී. සමස්ත වැඩමුළුවේ සම්පත් දායකත්වය බ්‍රිටෝ ප්‍රනාන්දු මහතා, නීතිඥයන් sampath pushpakumara,නීතිඥ ravindra sumathipala, ප්‍රජා අභිලාෂ සම්බන්ධීකාරක පියංකර කොස්තා. සපයන ලදී. රට තුළ පවතින වර්තමාන තත්ත්වය ,සමාජ දේශපාලන අර්බුදයන්,රට යන දිසාව ,ජනතාව මුහුණ දෙන ප්‍රශ්න හා ගැටලු පදනම් කරගනිමින් මූලික අවබෝධයක් පළමුවන දින ලබා දෙන ලදී.ඒ අතරම paralegal සහ මෙටා legal පිළිබඳව අවබෝධය ලබාදීම ද එදිනම සිදු කරන ලදී. ඉන් පසුව මූලික නීති රීති සහ මූලික අයිතිවාසිකම් පිළිබඳව දැනුවත් කළ අතරම ඉඩම සහ ඉඩම් නීති පිළිබඳව මග පෙන්වීමක් ලබා දෙන ලදී.අවසාන දිනයේ දී දිනයේ දී මානව හිමිකම් ක්‍රියාධරයෙකු ලෙස ඔහු තුළ තිබිය යුතු ලක්ෂණයන් හා පැමිණිය හැකි අභියෝගයන් පිළිබඳව සාකච්ඡා කළ අතර සෑම අයෙක්ම එක් සිද්ධියක් පදනම් කරගනිමින් වැඩ සැලසුම් සකස් කර ගැනීම සිදු කරන ලදී.
