World Habitat Day Celebration
The World Habitat Day celebration was held on November 8 at the Negombo Town Hall. The event was graced by the Hon. Mahinda Jayasinghe, Deputy Minister of Labour and Chairman of the Gampaha District Development Committee, as the Chief Guest.
Representatives from civil organizations, as well as people without housing from Katana, Wattala, Ja-Ela, Negombo, Seeduwa, and Pasyala areas, along with the Malaiyagam community who have migrated from the plantation sector to these areas, also took part in the gathering.
More than 1,000 participants attended the event. A message highlighting the issues faced by these communities was presented to the Deputy Minister. In response, the Minister stated that steps would be taken to find solutions through a broader discussion in the future.
However, the people emphasized that their struggle would continue until justice is achieved.
“We will continue our struggle until our rights are won.”
ලෝක ජනාවාස දින සැමරීම
මීගමුව නගර ශාලාවේදී නොවැම්බර් 8 වැනි දින පැවැත්විණි.
කම්කරු නියෝජ්ය අමාත්යය,ගම්පහ දිස්ත්රික් සංවර්ධන කමිටු සභාපති,මහින්ද ජයසිංහ ප්රධාන ආරාධිතයා ලෙස පැමිණි අතර සිවිල් සංවිධාන නියෝජිතයින්,කටාන , වත්තල ජාඇල , මීගමුව සීදුව,පස්යාල යන ප්රදේශවල වසස් ස්ථාන නොමැති ජනතාව ද,වතුකරයෙන් මෙම ප්රදේශයන් වලට පැමිණි මලේහම් ජනතාවද මෙම සමුළුව සඳහා සහභාගි වීය.1000 වඩා වැඩි පිරිසක් සහභාගි වූ අතර මෙම ජන කොටස් වලින් අයගේ ගැටලු නියෝජ්ය ඇමතිතුමා වෙත ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලද්දේ සංදේශයක් මගිනි.ඉදිරියේදී පුළුල් සාකච්ඡාවක් තුළින් මෙම ගැටළුවට විසඳුම් සොයන බව අමාත්යතුමා ප්රකාශ කළ ද ජනතාවගේ මෙම අරගලය නොනවත්වාම පවත්වාගෙන යෑම ඔවුන්ගේ එකම බලාපොරොත්තුවයි. உலக வீடமைப்பு தினக் கொண்டாட்டம் நவம்பர் 8ஆம் தேதி நீர்கொழும்பு நகர மண்டபத்தில் நடைபெற்றது. தொழிலாளர் துணை அமைச்சர் மற்றும் கம்பஹா மாவட்ட அபிவிருத்தி குழு தலைவர் மாண்புமிகு மஹிந்த ஜயசிங்க முக்கிய விருந்தினராக கலந்துகொண்டார்.
குடிமக்கள் அமைப்புகளின் பிரதிநிதிகள், கடான, வத்தளை, யாழளை, நீர்கொழும்பு, சீதுவா, பஸ்யாலா பகுதிகளில் வீடில்லாமல் வாழும் மக்கள், மேலும் தேயிலைத்தோட்ட பகுதிகளில் இருந்து இப்பகுதிகளுக்கு குடிபெயர்ந்த மலையக மக்கள் ஆகியோரும் இக்கூட்டத்தில் பங்கேற்றனர்.
1000-க்கும் மேற்பட்டோர் இந்நிகழ்வில் பங்கேற்றனர். இம்மக்கள் எதிர்நோக்கும் பிரச்சனைகள் குறித்து ஒரு செய்தி மூலமாக துணை அமைச்சரிடம் சமர்ப்பிக்கப்பட்டது. எதிர்காலத்தில் விரிவான கலந்துரையாடலின் மூலம் தீர்வுகள் காண நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படும் என அமைச்சர் தெரிவித்தார்.
எனினும், தங்களது உரிமைகள் கிடைக்கும் வரை தங்களது போராட்டம் தொடரும் என மக்கள் வலியுறுத்தினர்.
“எங்கள் உரிமைகள் கிடைக்கும் வரை எங்கள் போராட்டம் தொடரும்.”
